Laboratory automation provider Tecan has launched its direct operations in India, including a dedicated local sales and service team based in Gurugram, near New Delhi.
The company called the launch an "important milestone" in its geographic expansion and added that it reinforced Tecan's commitment to serving customers in a dynamic, fast-growing life sciences market.
Previously, Tecan had supported Indian customers through its distribution partner, Bioscreen.
The company said in its statement that it would continue to work with Bioscreen to combine local expertise with closer customer engagement and strengthened support.
The establishment of Tecan India brings the company closer to customers across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic and diagnostic sectors, enabling more direct collaboration and responsive local support.

The new Indian operation builds on Tecan's 2024 expansion into South Korea, as the firm strengthens its presence in high-growth regions.
