Biotec Pharmaceutical Services in Bridgend, South Wales, has appointed Keren Winmill as its chief executive. Founder, Marc Weinzweig, will remain a non-executive director, major shareholder and continue his role in business development in Israel.
Winmill, who won the Science and Technology category of Welsh Woman of the Year in 2003, is an experienced pharmaceutical and general management professional with expertise in clinical supply management and a background in both research and the pharmaceutical services sector.
Weinzweig said: "Biotec now needs someone who is capable of managing the next stage of growth. I have made the decision to step aside into a more consultative role on the board, while Keren will be the driving force behind Biotec's continued success and expansion."
Winmill said: "I am really excited about my new role. Winning the MediWales Export Achievement Award at the end of 2008 and now The Queen's Award for Enterprise in International Trade have been particular honours and both highlight the phenomenal achievements of Marc and his team in recent years."
"My plan over the next five years is to continue to grow Biotec's client base internationally in order help take the company to its target of £10m turnover."
