Cardinal Health has selected supply chain software provider Kinaxis to increase medical product visibility and delivery through improved supply chain agility.
Through concurrent planning, end-to-end network visibility and transparency, the collaboration will enhance the company’s medical supply chain. Kinaxis’ RapidResponse supply chain software can reportedly factor in seasonality and pandemic planning, balance demand and supply while accounting for capacity safeguards and simulate product supply scenarios.
Cardinal will focus on initial implementation efforts of the software within its at-Home Solutions business, with an expected completion date of Summer 2022. Full implementation across the business is planned for completion by the end of the calendar year 2023.
“Integrating Kinaxis RapidResponse allows us to view our entire supply chain in real time to proactively mitigate and minimise potential impacts to our customers – and ultimately, their patients,” said Paul Rodio, SVP Global Planning at Cardinal Health. “Kinaxis is a key enabler to driving optimisation in our end-to-end global planning process.”
“Concurrent planning is becoming critical for the medical industry. Being able to monitor risks, adapt quickly and react to change in real time means people get their medical needs met, even if there’s disruption. Kinaxis RapidResponse is the world’s first and only concurrent planning platform,” said John Sicard, Kinaxis CEO. “We’re excited to collaborate with Cardinal Health to bring this advanced planning to healthcare customers and increase accessibility to the products they need most.”
