A global developer of specialty chemicals for the pharma sector has promoted Dr David Clary to a new role that combines technology and consumer advocacy functions within the company.
Albermarle Corporation, located at Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has appointed Clary as its new vice president of chief sustainability officer.
He will work with Albemarle's technology groups to accelerate the creation and commercialisation of socially and environmentally sound products. And will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Albemarle's global advocacy efforts to raise awareness of the safety and performance of the company's existing products.
Clary has a Ph.D in chemical engineering and over 20 years experience in process technology, re-search and development, and business manage-ment. He reports to Mark C. Rohr, chairman and president and chief executive officer of Albemarle.
