In mid-2009, Walter Fischli, co-founder and senior vice president of Swiss biopharmaceutical company Actelion, will hand over his position as co-head of drug discovery and head of biology to Beat Steiner, who joined Actelion in 2003 as deputy head of pharmacology and preclinical development.
Dr Rudolf Hanko will take over as ceo of Siegfried Holding in Zofingen, Switzerland, on 1 May. Hanko is currently head of the exclusive synthesis and amino acids business line of Evonik Industries, a specialist German chemical company. Siegfried’s chief financial officer, Dr Richard Schindler, will leave the company to take up a new position with another Swiss firm. The appointment of a new cfo will be announced in due course.
Danish biotech company Action Pharma has recruited Torben Jung Laursen as executive vice president of business development. Laursen joins from Alpharma, where he was most recently vice president of new products and technologies.
