The speciality chemical and ingredient distributor Univar Solutions has announced that its Ingredients + Specialties from Univar Solutions division has been chosen as a distributor for Ingredion Pharma Solutions, part of Ingredion Incorporated.
Ingredion Pharma Solutions, a division of Ingredion, is a global provider of ingredient solutions and produces functional ingredients, including pharmaceutical-grade starches that enhance formulation performance and help solve technical challenges in various pharmaceutical and nutraceutical applications.
The agreement includes the distribution of Ingredion's global pharmaceuticals portfolio, positioning Univar as the exclusive distributor of pharmaceutical starches in the US and Canada, including UNI-PURE F, UNI-PURE FL, UNI-PURE GA and UNI-PURE WG-220.
In a statement, Univar announced that its new strategic partnership will allow Ingredients + Specialties to diversify and strengthen its portfolios of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical ingredients.
This partnership will enhance their offerings with a wide range of functional excipients, including binders for direct compression and wet granulation, fillers for tablets and capsules, superdisintegrants, lubricants, emulsions for encapsulation and vegetarian gelatin replacements for softgel formulations.
